I graduated from Sonoma State University in the fall of 2018 with a Master of the Arts in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health. Before joining the Santa Rosa Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I worked as a grief counselor for a local hospice for two years. I gained extensive training in grief, loss, and end of life issues. I provided support for people experiencing the loss of all types of relationships including spouses, parents, and siblings.
I am drawn to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because it is evidence-based treatment that has high rates of success and can provide long lasting symptom relief. I believe the combination of a systematic goal-oriented approach with a collaborative therapeutic relationship can be a powerful catalyst for change.
I started my work at the Santa Rosa Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in 2021 as an associate therapist in the center’s intensive training program. During my two years in the program, I received intensive training in the treatment of anxiety disorders including panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and specific phobias. I also received training in the treatment of insomnia and habit disorders, including skin picking and hair pulling. After successfully completing the training program, I was excited to have the opportunity to stay on as a licensed staff therapist.
Building on my experience at hospice, I also have expanded the services provided at the Santa Rosa Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to include short term, goal-oriented grief counseling. I continue to consult regularly with experts in the field and attend trainings in the application and use of CBT and grief counseling to continue my education and provide the best services possible to my clients.
I have lived in Sonoma County for twelve years and am proud to call it home. I feel deeply bonded to this community and am committed to serving it. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the Northern California Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Network, as well as being committed to continuing my professional development through attending workshops and trainings.
