Litsa Tanner, LMFT Co-Founder, Clinical Director
707-545-4600 ext. #3
I began my career as a therapist in 1998, treating children, adolescents, and adults. Although I have used a variety of therapeutic approaches over the years, I have always been drawn to the practical skills based nature of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT). Consistently I found that when using CBT, my clients got better faster and reported higher levels of overall satisfaction with their therapy. Over time I began to focus my personal development as a therapist predominately in the use of CBT and continue to do so today. I feel that the learning process as a therapist never ends. I consult regularly with experts in the field and attend advanced trainings in CBT in order to provide the highest quality of services possible.
I specialize in the treatment of all anxiety disorders including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Separation Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Social Anxiety as well as habit disorders such as Trichotillomania and skin-picking, and Insomnia.
In addition to my work with clients, I also provide training and consultation to other clinicians who want to specialize in using CBT or just incorporate more CBT principals and interventions into their current work with clients.
I received advanced training in the treatment of OCD from Drs Paul and Arna Munford, and was a clinical staff member at the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center for OCD & Anxiety. I am also a graduate of the Trichotillomaina Learning Center Professional Training Institute.
I am a member of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation, the Trichotillomania Learning Center, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
