I graduated from Dominican University of California with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology and from UCLA with a Master of Education.  Most recently, I have worked as an on-site therapist at an elementary school and middle school helping children and teens struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and behavioral issues.

As a parent and a former elementary school teacher, I use real-world knowledge to support my education and clinical experience about how children develop and what they face at home, in school, and in the world.  As a graduate student, I was exposed to many types of psychotherapy, but Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) caught my attention because it is evidence-based and data driven.  CBT not only measures progress, it is collaborative and teaches my clients skills that can result in lasting change.  Because of this, I have chosen to make CBT my primary approach with clients as I believe it provides many lifelong benefits.

I joined the Santa Rosa Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because of the depth of knowledge and successful practice evident at the Center.  My desire to learn from the best in order to provide the most effective treatment available made this an easy decision.  I am receiving intensive training on the treatment of Anxiety Disorders including: Phobias, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, as well as Insomnia and Habit Disorders including skin picking and hair pulling.

I am a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, working towards licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, under the supervision of Litsa R. Tanner, MFT . I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as the Marin CAMFT chapter because I believe in the importance of professional development and the shared knowledge that these groups provide.
