I began my work with children, adolescents, and families during my studies at UCLA over 20 years ago. After settling in Sonoma County in 1996 I began to focus my work on young children and their families. This eventually led me to Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). The first time I heard about PCIT I knew this is what I was born to do. I was struck by the dramatic long lasting change that families experienced after completing PCIT. It was often surprising to parents how quickly their relationship with their child changed. Children that were often described as “unruly”, “difficult”, and “challenging” became “loving”, “friendly”, and “cooperative.”

I quickly centered my professional development on becoming an expert in the use of PCIT. Over the last ten years I have specialized in the treatment of major behavior problems in young children, helping hundreds of families permanently alter their relationships and interactions. I also had the opportunity to move PCIT into preschools and childcare centers across Sonoma County, helping teachers learn the same great skills parents do in PCIT through Teacher Child Interaction Training (TCIT).

I was excited to join SRCBT in 2011 and become a part of their state of the art PCIT program. I have trained with PCIT experts such as Cheryl McNiel, Ph.D. and the UC Davis CAARE Center and have also facilitated the training of twenty therapists in PCIT across four different agencies in Mendocino County. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
